LOVER by Tom Goss

Here's a video that relates a story seldom told, that of the loved ones left behind of gays and lesbians serving in the Armed Forces.

JOHN M CLUM/ photographer

Men and machinery, "my only weakness" as Dorcas Lane would say. Many photographers have done it to varying degrees of success. Here is a study by John M Clum from 2005 with model Josh Kole. There are many more examples from this shoot on Kole's personal site, in color.

Just a little Easter greeting for you all.

One of my many interests in photography is vintage black and white images that I collect from the net. Unfortunately, the photographers who took these are often lost to time or because they were not collected from sites that cite. Here are some pics depicting an act of hygiene called showering. Only one is credited, the first. It is from the sixties and is by Danny Lyon and is labeled Texas Department of Corrections, 1969. It is from a project he did in cooperation with the Texas Department of Corrections from 1967 to 1968 and was published in book form in 1971 called Conversations With the Dead.

Introducing Errikos Andreou and images from his series In Light and Shadow. As you can see, they're smokin' hot.

Today is a little departure from the usual fare of stunning black and white photography to explore Francois Rousseau and some of his color images. He seems to be into the warrior image. So am I. The large things worn on their heads are said to be large beetle horns. Um...OK.

THIS IS WHO WE ARE/ Tom Goss and Matt Alber

I am an emerging fan of Matt Alber. I posted his End of the World video awhile back. Ran across this about DADT.

ALEJANDRO CASPE / photographer

One of the blogs on my list to the right, Artistry of Male, has a very nice list of photographers to explore. It is from other blog lists that I find wonderful new sources of imagery to share with you all. Today it is Alejandro Caspe. Some of his imagery certainly seems to reflect a deep Catholic background and some could be said to be controversial. But to jaded old queers like me, not so much.

SHAVING/ Random Acts of Hygiene

Does anyone else think there is something inherently sexy about images of men committing acts of hygiene? Apparently many photographers do, including Dan Skinner. There are so many images of men in the showers, fewer of men in the bath, and fewer still of men shaving, but shaving is essentially a guy thing and oh so hot. To me there is an implied intimacy that I find appealing. The first three are Dan Skinner photos, the rest are random finds and reblogs and the photographers are unknown to me. Enjoy!!
