BRUCE WEBER / revisited

I have shown some of Bruce Weber's work before and thought it about time to show more.
First, a little about the artist. He was born in Pennsylvania in 1946. In the late 70's he started doing ads and commercials for prominent fashion designers and had his first show. He has appeared in various print media and has had many shows of his work.
Over 15 books of his work have been published. Featured here is Bear Pond published in 1990 by Bulfinch Press. It was shot in the Adirondacks in upstate New York. The pictures speak for themselves and nothing more needs to be said.
Interesting to note is that Bulfinch Press brought up a lot of hits on Google but does not appear to have its own web presence. If you want to know about them, hit Google.

JOSH BRANDAO / photographer

Josh is a London based photographer and filmmaker with a great passion for story telling.
He has studied for 4 years at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design , where he got a degree in Designing for Performance after specialising in Moving Image and Photography.
His interest for the very performative and theatrical aspects of Fashion led him to do a Masters degree in Fashion Photography at the London College of Fashion.
Josh's work is often described as cinematic and theatrical. He is constantly developing concepts and experimenting with his artistic vision.
The above is directly from his website. There is a lot of his work that I don't especially relate to, other than to say that he is really into some interesting and bizarre (to me) imagery. Don't get me wrong, some of it is great. It just doesn't fit with my criteria for of this blog. This particularly series, however, did speak to me and I offer it for you to decide. I like the contrasts in light and shadow as well as the use of props. The series is in muted color, but I think it would work very well in black and white.
